Restoring Euer Valley

Euer Valley contains the headwaters of the South Fork of Prosser Creek within the Truckee River watershed and is enjoyed for its abundant recreational opportunities year-round, breath taking views, and its rich geologic history. Within the Prosser Basin watershed, there has been some 150 years of significant disturbance to the canyon, including logging, dirt road building, and current trails which has affected the hydrology and degraded the creek.

The project area was historically used for grazing and timber harvest resulting in degradation of creek banks, narrowing of surface water flows, and increased sediment into the main channel. In the last 50 years, recreation has become the dominant land use in the area.  Now, the area is out of its natural ecological balance. We’re going to restore it.
