TRWC, along with our partner, California State Parks (CASP) is releasing a Request for Proposals for implementation of the Summit Canyon Restoration Design project.

The purpose of the project is to design riparian forest health and fire fuels reduction measures supporting Aspen release at Summit Canyon in Donner Memorial State Park, Nevada County, CA.

The riparian forest restoration design requested integrates aspen release, road, trail and facilities improvements, and stream restoration on Donner Creek. The stream restoration element includes design of an at-grade heavy haul rock ford maintaining fish passage. Requested work includes site surveys and technical studies required for forest treatment, road and creek restoration design and permitting. This design project is anticipated to start in September 2026 and be completed before May 2027. Implementation is targeted for 2028.

Proposals must be received electronically in PDF format by 5PM on Monday August 17, 2026. Submit proposals electronically (.pdf format) to rrobin@truckeeriverwc.org
