Conservation Assistant, River Friendly Landscaping

This employee position begins in April, 2012 and ends December 31, 2012. The application deadline is 3/23/12.

The Conservation Assistant (CA) is the primary contact with the property owners participating in our River Friendly Landscaping program from initial contact to Completion Award. The CA completes site assessments, makes recommendations for possible erosion control measures, creates the Treatment Workbook for the property owner, and coordinates with consultants to incorporate professional recommendations into the report. The CA also assists the property owner by providing a list of contractors, verifying ongoing and completed work and helping to coordinate/facilitate the Certificate of Completion and potential rebate.

Direct Contact Associate, River Friendly Landscaping

This independent contractor position runs from May through July, 2012. The application deadline is 3/16/12.

As a Direct Contact Associate, you’ll be promoting our River Friendly Landscaping program by canvasing targeted neighborhoods and explaining the program directly to the property owners, obtaining contact information from the owners, making referrals to the Conservation Assistants to schedule site evaluations and tracking the properties visited and the owner’s response.

The River Friendly Landscaping program improves water quality by assisting residential property owners in voluntarily reducing or preventing soil erosion at older and established neighborhoods in the Truckee River watershed in the Town of Truckee, portions of Placer County and portions of Nevada County.
