The Truckee River Watershed Council (TRWC) and Truckee Donner Land Trust (TDLT) are looking to hire a consulting firm to conduct an assessment of Lacey Meadows.

TDLT recently acquired the land surrounding Webber Lake, including Lacey Meadows, one of the larger northern Sierra meadows. TDLT and TRWC are interested in protecting areas of the meadow that are in good condition and restoring degraded areas. The stream channel through Lacey Meadows exhibits some headcutting and erosion, and there appears to be a lack of floodplain connectivity. Known modifications to the stream channel include road building and grazing. The meadow may be experiencing conifer encroachment. The goal of the assessment is to identify root causes behind current day degradation and outline restoration actions to correct the degradation.
