The Nature Conservancy (TNC) recently purchased the property around Independence Lake and is seeking public input on recreation and access issues for this important watershed. Compared to other lakes in the region, Independence Lake has not experienced the introduction of numerous aquatic invasive species (AIS.) It is also the habitat for seven native fish species.
The goal is to protect this lake for future generations while allowing a variety of uses compatible with the ecosystem goals. For more information go to:
