The Watershed Council has set a goal to finish 50 restoration projects in 10 years. To meet that goal we need to be financially stable for the long term.
So this week we sent a team of eight to a training workshop on fundraising. Three board members, two staff, and three volunteers are in Seattle learning strategies and techniques to grow programs in major gifts, donor cultivation, planned giving, and endowments. In this session on Tuesday morning (see photo), we were developing specific 5-year and 10-year funding goals for annual operations, an operating reserve, and an endowment.
The training is giving us the tools to raise the funds to restore, protect, and enhance the Truckee River watershed.
